Janet has over 31 years experience practicing law. During the economic recession of the late 1980's and 1990's, she played a key role in the reorganization of a publicly-held national retail company as the executive responsible for the company's $5 billion real estate portfolio. Janet led a nationwide staff in selling 5,000 properties and renegotiating 1,500 commercial leases.
Janet's business law and real estate practice represents lenders, commercial and subdivision developers, investors, real estate agents and brokers, and landlords and tenants through all phases of the economic cycle.
Representative transactions include the acquisition, sale, and financing of commercial properties, planning and zoning/land use, residential and commercial development, representation of commercial tenants and landlords in retail and office leases, formation of homeowners associations, and negotiation of sales commission disputes. She also has incorporated or organized dozens of entities, obtained licensing and defended against government citations, provided business counseling, and prepared numerous manufacturing, sales, and distribution agreements.
